Family Services provides high quality intervention and prevention services to children and families to reduce the risk of child abuse and neglect in the Los Angeles community. Our bilingual and bicultural staff is uniquely qualified to provide culturally sensitive services to the Latino population. Skilled staff partner with families to assess their specific needs and develop a comprehensive treatment plan to meet the needs of each family. We offer a wide range of educational and supportive services to empower families to create positive change in their lives.

Programs include:

Family Preservation provides intensive case management and parent education to assist in keeping children safe in their homes or prepare the family for the return of their children.

Partners United For Families targets families with children from birth through five years old, in addition to high risk pregnant mothers. We offer case management and developmentally specific parent education to assist in creating stability within the family and prevent child detainment.

Domestic Violence classes are offered to female victims of abuse. Currently, Plaza offers 3 women’s Domestic Violence classes free of charge, in English and Spanish, Monday through Wednesday. Child care is provided to our clients who participate in the Domestic Violence group.

Anger management classes are designed to teach participants healthy ways to express their anger and improve their overall communication skills. Classes are available for teens, children and adults. Child care is provided to parents who participate in the anger management group.

Parenting classes educate parents and caregivers on basic child development, age appropriate interventions to reduce behavioral problems and communication skills. The course is offered in English and Spanish for a small fee of $10 per class and a $40 non-refundable registration fee. Child care is provided for group participants.

The Male Family Violence Project provides offenders the tools they need to break the cycle of violence, improve communication, increase personal responsibility and find new ways to relate to others. Classes are held in Spanish. There is a non-refundable registration fee of $50 and a weekly charge of $20 per class. Child care is provided for group participants.
