Henry Martinez

Enrique (Henry) Martinez is the Senior Vice President of Water Infrastructure at Cordoba Corporation, a nationally recognized California based engineering, program and construction management firm specializing in transportation, energy, water, education and facilities. Prior to his current position, Martinez was vice president of Power Production for Southern California Edison (SCE) where he was responsible for operating and maintaining the power production assets of the company, which included hydro, combustion turbine, combined cycle gas turbine, commercial rooftop solar and fuel cell facilities.

Prior to his position at Southern California Edison (SCE), Martinez was vice president of Safety, Security and Compliance at SCE where he was responsible for overseeing safety, security and compliance functions at the utility company. His previous roles include serving as director of Strategic Planning at Edison International, the parent company of SCE. He also served as director of Grid Operations at SCE, responsible for executing the daily reliable delivery of energy to customers, as well as leading emergency system and local energy restoration during and following major disturbance events. Martinez was also appointed by then Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn to serve as Acting General Manager of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Henry’s accomplishments during this assignment include efforts to protect the supply of energy to the City of Los Angeles during the 2001 energy crisis and assisting municipalities to minimize blackouts in their service territories.  He has also served as the Vice President of Hydro Operations for the Tennessee Valley Authority where he was responsible for 29 power plants, one pump storage, and more than 40 main and diversion dams on the Tennessee River and tributaries.

Martinez has more than 36 years of experience in the utility sector, working for three large investor, federal and municipality owned utilities, having served in technical and senior leadership roles at all three utilities. Martinez serves on the Leadership Council for the School of Engineering and Computer Science at California State University, Fullerton. He earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from California State University, Fullerton, and is a graduate of The Executive Program from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
